European Researchers Night 2022

On September 30th we were present at the European Researchers’ Night 2022 that took place at the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon.

Visit from Prof. Nurit Ashkenasy

Yesterday we had the pleasure to host Prof. Nurit Ashkenary from Ben-Gurion University. Thank you for the opportunity to discuss our work and the great talk about “Bio-inspired Surface Functionalization”.  We also would like to thank UCIBIO for the organization of the open seminar with Prof Nurit’s enthusiastic talk.

Young Investigator Awards, Affinity 2021

Younger Investigator Award

In Affinity2019 Conference, held in Stockholm in June 2019, Manuel Matos, PhD student from the MIT-Portugal Bioengineering Systems, was warded with the Younger Investigator Award. His talk was about ‘Purification platform for antibodies & antibody based-fragments based on a de novo designed affinity adsorbent’ and the award distinguishes the best oral presentation during the conference. 

Excellent Young Researcher Award

Our PhD student Manuel Matos was awarded the Excellent Young Researcher certificate by the Antibodies Journal. Manuel received the certificate during the attendance of the 257th American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting & Exposition: ‘Chemistry for New Frontiers’ in Orlando, USA where he presented a poster.
