🧪 Congratulations BioDiffuse team (Inês Padrão, Afonso Eva, Cátia Soares, Ana Margarida Dias, CecÃlia Roque), finalist in this year’s Tecnimede Open Innovation Competition ✨
💊 BioDiffuse designed a bio-based coating technology as an alternative to titanium dioxide (TiOâ‚‚) in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products. Its light-diffusing formulations improves opacity, durability, protection and reduces the need for dyes and synthetic additives.  Â
The final, which occurred on May 27 at Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon, brought together researchers, healthcare professionals, investors and entrepreneurs who were presented with ten finalist projects showcasing the most recent advances in biotechnology, healthcare and pharmaceutical technology.
António José Seguro, the President of the Portuguese Republic opened the event, followed by a presentation on the role of AI in drug discovery by Yann Gaston-Mathé, Founder and CEO of Iktos. After the finalists’ presentations, the jury selected the SafeAlleleSCA project as the winner of the second Jorge Ruas Award.
