We’re excited to share Margarida Dias’ latest article, “Discovery and optimization of a synthetic small protein domain targeting antibodies,” now published in Frontiers.
🔬 This work explores innovative ways to design small, stable protein ligands that can specifically recognize antibodies, an important challenge in modern biotechnology.
Using a custom WW-domain phage display library, the team identified and optimized a promising binder to human IgG. The engineered variants showed higher stability, better solubility, increased expression, and even stronger binding to antibodies.
💡 The study highlights the power of small folded protein domains as versatile affinity tools, opening new possibilities in bioengineering and therapeutic development.
