Inspiring future scientists through hands-on learning!
We had the pleasure of working with 5th and 9th grade students at Elias Garcia School on a series of engaging and interactive science activities.
For the 5th grade class, we extracted DNA from bananas — a fun and accessible way to introduce the concept of genetics and the molecular basis of life.
The 9th grade students participated in a more advanced activity simulating protein expression using a cell-free system, allowing them to explore how proteins are synthesized outside of living cells.
Inspiring future scientists through hands-on learning!
We also introduced the concepts of protein modeling and smart anti-counterfeiting materials, sparking conversations about the real-world applications of biotechnology and material science.
It was truly rewarding to see the students’ curiosity, creativity, and excitement for science!
