In this study, “Design and evolution of a synthetic small protein scaffold based on the WW domain,” we explored the potential of WW domains as versatile peptide scaffolds.
Using in vitro evolution via phage display against human serum albumin (HSA), we identified a promising lead candidate that was successfully produced through both biological and chemical methods.
The scaffold was further characterized using a combination of experimental and computational techniques, highlighting the adaptability of WW domains for targeting non-cognate proteins.
