Introducing SUBTLE: Sustainable anticounterfeiting tags secured with AI authentication 🔒
Did you know counterfeit products make up 5% of all imports in the EU, costing a staggering €119 billion annually? This growing crisis not only threatens industries but also endangers human health. The WHO reports that 10% of medicines worldwide are counterfeits, resulting in over 250,000 child deaths every year.
SUBTLE, led by the PI Susana Palma, tackles this issue by combining Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) tags (biobased optical tags) and AI authentication to ensure product safety and authenticity across supply chains.
